“Tiny Music…Songs From The Vatican Gift Shop” Is the best album of the 90s, and I’m tired of it not being recognized as such

Why were so many 90s album covers so ugly? Even a band as kino as Jellyfish has some garish covers.

Yes it is. Only bad song on it is Art School Girl. Their other albums have more bad songs

it truly aged like fine wine.
I thought it was good when it came out but it seemed a little low key and throwaway, but every few years I rediscover it and love it more each time, maybe its just that music got shitter that what seemed like just another album in the 90s sounds like a masterpiece today

OP is correct.

Billy Corgan explains:
>Following Weiland's death, Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins posited, "It was STP's 3rd album that had got me hooked, a wizardly mix of glam and post-punk, and I confessed to Scott, as well as the band many times, how wrong I'd been in assessing their native brilliance. And like Bowie can and does, it was Scott's phrasing that pushed his music into a unique, and hard to pin down, aesthetic sonicsphere. Lastly, I'd like to share a thought which though clumsy, I hope would please Scott In Hominum. And that is if you asked me who I truly believed were the great voices of our generation, I'd say it were he, Layne, and Kurt."

>”I got a gurlfriend…she got a gurlfriend”
He says in a fake southern drawl. Yeah no, fuck those verses. Every other song on the album is at least 7/10. Most being 8.5+

Based songs. These and Big Empty are the best songs on the album. Also, anyone else feel like some songs on an album pair well with the other. Almost like they’re sort of twins? These two songs are a perfect example of that. Also Pop’s Love Suicide and Tumble In The Rough

As if we need that egomaniac to validate STP’s excellence. Him only liking the band once Tiny Music came out means Corgan didn’t like Purple, which is funny because it’s better than anything Smashing Pumpkins ever released

And So I Know is a beautiful song
For me it's
Purple = Tiny Music > Core > rest
just depends on my mood

No.4 would be remembered as fondly as their first 3 albums had Scott not been sent to prison as they released it. It's a shame because it's a pretty good album. Down is one of the best openers ever.
