Most of the hate is just contrived political disagreements because he chooses to promote messages and material that mostly plays it safe. He has to also cater to these views out of fear of losing his audience or being labeled a racist, which is bad for his bottom line as he runs a business that depends heavily off other people actually viewing and engaging with his content. Actual real and authentic option here since most people are just gonna whine about American culture war shit. I stopped watching him when he stopped reviewing interesting music and kept pushing more and more trap rap to get a bigger following while giving trap albums a higher score on average than other stuff and arguing that “the genre needs to be judged in its own merits when called out on it”. I also lost a lot of respect for him when he deleted his meme channel due to the Fader piece. I get mellowing out on the whole edgy internet thing as you get older and maybe not wanting to associate with Sam Hyde anymore after the pedophile thing but his whole image just became really lame and sterile afterwards. Even his profile pic changed from an “angry reviewer” kinda thing to a harmless corporate art smiling thing. Same thing for me. I used to enjoy his meme shit and got a kick out of his non-music videos, but after the Fader hit piece, he just changed to someone I didn't wanna watch anymore. Sterile and boring is the best way to describe Fantano nowadays. He also just reviews nothing I care about now.
