The only mashup that matters. Feels relevant today.

personally lean more towards Sabbath but wouldn't argue against Zeppelin

I think for my own personal taste I VERY slightly prefer Sabbath, but that opinion has changed over the years. Zeppelin I think have the overall stronger catalogue, but Sabbath's highs are a little bit higher. Doing the first 6 albums against each other is dead even though.

Zeppelin is way better. They have more range, better players in every role. Black Sabbath is obviously heavily influenced by Led Zeppelin but they don't have the chops or creativity and can only do nervous breakdown type stuff

Led Zeppelin perfected the dadrock formula, but Black Sabbath created their own little universe, full of imagination and fresh ideas. For me it's not even a contest, Black Sabbath for sure.

imo:
>Black Sabbath >>> Led Zeppelin I
>Paranoid >> Led Zeppelin II
>Master of Reality >>>>> Led Zeppelin III
>Vol. 4 = Led Zeppelin IV
>Sabbath Bloody Sabbath >>> Houses of the Holy
>Sabotage << Physical Graffiti
>Technical Ecstasy = Presence
>Never Say Die > In Through the Out Door

Let me give it some thought actually
>Black Sabbath > Led Zeppelin I
>Paranoid > Led Zeppelin II
>Master of Reality > Led Zeppelin III
>Vol 4 < Led Zeppelin IV
>Sabbath Bloody Sabbath < Houses of the Holy
>Sabotage < Physical Graffiti
>Technical Ecstasy = Presence
>Never Say Die << In Through the Out Door

Yeah, it's pretty even for me with the first 6, though none of them for me are vastly better than the other. Maybe MoR over III, but still I do still love Zep III. ITTOD is probably the only clear advantage over the other imo.

Black Sabbath from 1980 to 1995 is better than Led Zeppelin. Black Sabbath with Ozzy is on par with Led Zeppelin.

i mean yeah, pretty easy to be better than the band not releasing anything in that time but if Zep continued, i bet Sabbath would still be better. Iommi made what he wanted but Zep seemed like one of those bands that would try to sell out in the 80's

With songs like Fire in the works, I really wish we had gotten one more Zeppelin album. I could see a mixture of more progressive rock with heavy metal elements in an 80s Zep album with some of that keyboard like in In Through the Out Door.

I've always felt like Zeppelin was the perfect rock band, but I dunno lately I'm having much love for Sabbath. I might have to go with the spooky bois on this.

>led zeppelin 1
Great album
>2
Literally who except for whole lotta love
>3
Literally who except for immigrant song
>4
Great album
>every album after 4
Kind of shit except for like 3 or 4 songs total

>black sabbath
Great album
>paranoid
Best album between the 2 bands, slightly edging out led zeppelin 4
>master of reality
Pretty good album
>every album after that
Kind of shit, like 1 pretty good song on each album

Overall I'd go with sabbath. Both are great bands thanks to their 2 respective good albums that are great all theway through and were incredibly influential, but most of their later releases suck in comparison. Also black sabbath without GODzzy isn't real black sabbath

I would rather listen to Black Sabbath just about any day. LZ are great, but I don't really like listening to their whole albums usually. BS is generally more fun to listen to.

I will say that the one area that LZ definitely mog BS are mellow songs. Planet Caravan and Solitude are cool and all, but Going to California is an absolutely perfect song.

Led Zeppelin was more ground breaking, more influential, and has all the objective metrics in their favor.
Sabbath still wins.
