I've been making music since I was 12 years old (26 now) and I've lost the ability to make beats. I get stuck on chord progressions and can barely string together melodies now. I only took a 5-6 year break, what the fuck man? How can I get my sauce back?

Use a sample, program beats and shit around it. It'll be like how covering a song can be refreshing for a real musician.
