I grew up listening to weezer, they were an okay alt rock band. You have to picture what it was like. Kurt cobain had just died. The radio was filled with kurt clones and post grunge butt rock.
Then comes this dude, looks like buddy holly. Hes in the garage, he's got a dungeon masters guide.

rivers is actually an autistic pop rock genius, its just that he sometimes can over do it and it turns out sterile top 40 garbage. he has written lots of great tunes and also made some complete garbage. it is what it is

They're objectively the best rock band from the 90s after nirvana

shut the fuck up they made/still make great music for socially isolated/neurodivergent people. the honesty and vulnerability is part of the appeal and if you find it cringe you should go listen to some toughguy happy dappy shit like rhcp
