What do we think of it?
For me, it's definitely up there as one of the best openers in any rock album.

A rare no skip album. This was especially hard to do at the time cuz this era had extremely tacky and tasteless bands.

B-but pitchfork rescored it to 7.something! It said that the lyrics are nonsensical and way too white cis male centred! Nooo don't listen to Interpol anymore!

Their rhythm section was their weapon. Incredible bass lines mixed with somewhat schizophrenic, derivative post rock posturing created a really good album.

They're both kind of "produced" bands in that they had massive financial support to get their first albums together.

The things about this band is that they knew about a lot of crimes that occurred, mostly by young murderers (>>126842562). As a boy they stole my tunes and raped me. They should be in prison for the latter but I want them to open up about those criminals in public first. Really useless in terms of being proactive it seems.

That doesn't have anything to do with Untitled though.
Btw, I haven't quite listened to Antics with proper attention, will do.
I like Untitled so much because I think it represents the band's nature in such a perfect way; the instrumental, lyrics, and atmosphere alltogether makes me feel as if this was Interpol saying "this is us, this is our vision".
Being the first song of their first album only makes it perfect.
>>126844692
Listening as we speak, currently sittin tru Munich, the first song was really good, I'm eager to see if it doesn't fall tru!

>and somehow managed to become infinitely more successful
Why'd you say that? I doubt The Killers mog Interpol in terms of fame. That hardly matters anyway lol both are superbly famous.

Mr Brightside alone has gotten more mainstream radio play than Interpol's entire discography.
Hell, I distinctly remember When We Were Young being played like 3 times on my way to and from school each day.
