Is there some website or tool that i can use to estimate if some artist has a predominantly feminine or masculine fanbase?
Im focusing on wpop music. For example, clairo seems to attract more women, on the other hand magdalena bay that is more experimental tends to attract men.
I browsed theirs IG pages and if you click a random pic and see who liked, it seems to confirm.
Also i accept suggestion from annons who went to concerts and noticed what the majority was.
Lets exclude ultra famous artists like taylor swift and lady gaga.

What i have now are guildelines like: the less experimental more women, the less focus on sexy dances and sex more women.
Mostly women:
>clairo, pink pantheress, lorde, haim, melanie, billie, gracie
Mostly men:
>magdalena bay, weyes blood, st vicent, kero kero bonito, fka twigs, tinashe, rina sawayama
Is this a good rule of thumb?

Just curiosity. I liked magdalena bay showed to a friend who dislike because it is too weird. Chatgpt says this band should lean into more female audience.

Most men listen to music sung by men
Most women listen to music sung by women
There's some degree of overlap

I swear Spotify must probably have a gender data list? If you dig enough there might be actual marketing data somewhere as well.

Probably stereotypically:
woman voice lesbian adjacent or fully lgbt = women
man trying hard to be straight = straight white dudes and gay men who think its a big ruse

There's the interesting ones like Aerosmith say where in their prime they were a BIG male band but got soft in their old age and became a female band.

Best male bands are Turnstile, BCNR, Joey Valance & Brae. Morgan Wallen I guess.

Yeah, obviously you dont need to compare twice and jpegmafia to know which one attract some fanbase.
Im talking about specific cases like indie pop music with a female vocalist.

Im like that too. I even enjoy clairo and billie who are 100% produced to a female audience.

I do like experimental music dnb, noise, jungle, jazz but commercial male targeted music with power and edgyness like rap, numetal, metal, rock are off putting to me.

Am i not him but:
>mom once told me i was acting like a woman
>my gf (female XX genes) in the start told me i was pretty gay but thats a good thing
>had an online friend for 2 months that said, wow i swear all this time i thought you were a girl after i said i was a man

For some reason i get attracted by aesthetics and things made for women and gay men. I dont look feminine nor i am attracted to males. Also dont care.

no, but you are assuming that feamle vocalist = 100% female fanbase. Show these artists to your mom or sister and see if they really like them.
IMO the more experimental, innovative and sexy, lesser female you targeting.

Also see boybands from korea. Do you think any straight male will be hyped up to watch those feminine men with an energetic dance pretending to be hard? They obviously are targeting women.

You will need to gauge that on a case by case basis. Cuter girls get the waifu treatment from male fans. Clairo at first got the waifu treatment and she wasn't popular with women at all (Immunity era, she was astroturfed here nonstop). Twigs, tinashe, and sawayama were hyped but didn't get much waifu treatment. The latter two in particular, I don't know any straight men that like either. The other four were peak waifuism (missing there would be grimes), with midori and actor era st vincent leading the pack. Honestly most men who listen to women singers are gay, that's a fact. The poppier and more commercial the female artist is, the more likely the male fan is gay. Then there is the autist cases like male fans of Taylor swift (zero sex appeal and music obviously aimed at women with heavy lyricism and little instrumental experimentation) but it's her lack of sexy lyrics that makes her unappealing to gay men (she never cultivated a gay fanbase anyway).

I enjoy taylor swift because her songs are catchy and easy listening. Not that innovative but they are well produced and some mvs are cool.

Asking the right question. Why are you so insecure in your tastes that you need to know the demographic breakdown of an artist's fanbase?

Yeah all that matters if you enjoy the music or not, like shit my boomer dad would play Britney Spears and Gaga because he just liked the catchy songs. But I guess this board is predominantly concerned with what music is deemed cool by hipsters.

Everytime I see this pic, I think it has a Kate Bush aesthetic.
Too bad there's nothing else about Kate there.
