I’m not sure if I’d go as far as to say this was the best iteration of Fleetwood Mac, but it’s damn close. Very underrated and better than the Green ‘Mac and the post-Tusk Buckingham-Nicks ‘Mac.

This is where I ended up too. Fleetwood Green was often more unrealized potential than obvious greatness. Fleetwood Welch was always changing but managed to develop their own consistent style and do great things with it.

it's good to see the Green era worship die down and the Welch era praise rightfully rise up, we don't have to pretend Green era was deep and underrated anymore. it was always baffling to me that it was ever used as the first point of reference to

They were as far from the blues in the Welch era as they were the Buckingham/Nicks era. I still think their self titled through Tusk is their best run of albums, but the Kirwan/Welch albums are close

Green era is trash but you should really give Welch era a go if you like Buckingham era especially if you happen to be a fan of Christine. try Mystery to Me, Bare Trees

Then Play On is a little overrated and I prefer most, maybe all, of the Welch albums. But it’s still pretty good. I would agree that the Green Mac were garbage when they were doing straight blues like on the first two albums.
