Why did 50 Cent make one good album, then a dozen bad ones?

sometimes you hit diamond and sometimes you end up with an inventory full of cobblestone bud

This album is actually kind of overrated and he hit his peak during the g unit mixtape era

Also he gave away bunch of hits to The Game, which is why his second album ended up so lacklustre and by the third album, gangster rap already lost its cool

He lost his edge. He used to be gangsta, now he's a wanksta.

So I moved to actual music made by OG gangstas like snoop dogg, vybz kartel etc.

He pretty much did. He was smart and put his focus on business instead and did well for himself. His mixtapes leading up to this and Get Rich in general already solidified him as an all time great.

Nothing can follow GRODT, honestly, so many things fell into place for it to succeed the way that it did, surely surpassing expectations. When it dropped it was everywhere, you could be someone who could give a fuck about mainstream radio, pop, all that, but here was this monster record. You could not escape it.

Massacre had Ski-Mask Way, if the whole album had that vibe it would've been classic, Jada leveled it with that "weedplay" bar

CURTIS finds the balance pop/street, it's a really good album overshadowed by the Kanye/Rockafella war, yet going back to CURTIS it's definitely a strong album.
BISD is good, but by this time you can tell Fiddy dipped
War Angel was the last mixtape I heard and it's kino

GRODT has a strange legacy. There seems to be an active campaign to downplay its influence and importance. It's one of the only truly great rap albums, I listen to now and then. GRODT definitely mogs the shit out Illmatic

It's the greatest rap album of all time and the only one with any truth in it when you get right down to it. You're correct about everything you said.

This album isn't even that great. 1/4th of the songs are good the rest are throw away. 50 cent was cool growing up but I've come to terms with him being wack by this point in my life. Eminem got lucky being signed by Dr. Dre, but at least he produced countless good songs afterwards. 50 cent got lucky by being signed by Eminem and he barely produced anything of worth. In 50 years 50 and all of G-Unit for that matter will be just a footnote in rap history.

Same here.
50's music aged horribly. He struggles staying on beat and has an awful flow.
