What stopping me from doing another Woodstock? Honestly? I mean fuck, at this point all you really need is a good sound system and an AUX cord. Would any of you drive/fly to go?

3 days
peace
music
Do you have all of those? Sounds like you just have gear.

There were several big free-for-all hippie rock festivals before Woodstock, including that very same year. Woody just hogged all the media attention because of what a disorganized shitshow it was and then had its legend cemented with a hit documentary and soundtrack.

nah that was Joe Cocker and Canned Heat. seasoned cover band/song and dance men. easy lay up for sure but it's true.
every other act used extensive overdubs for public release (CSNY) or stopped their set from being filmed/recorded (the Dead) or haplessly phoned it in (the Band/CCR) because being exposed as frauds was not cool during the proficient blues rock environment.
the Who transcended the event and shouldn't be lumped in with the rest of the paycheck hacks.
that jealous jew Albert Grossman seeing Led Zep live before this and shitting his diaper knowing they would upstage his and everyone else's acts gifted the Who as the transcendent band of the event.

New Mexico only requires a special use permit to hold big events on BLM land. I mean what, renting speakers 2k, the generators needed, 1.5k, 500 because fuck you.. so I would be in 4k deep. You could probably get that with crowdfunding. Things get strange when you serve food, alcohol.. so BYOB and BYOF. Or some smart food truck guys, catering company. To my ears it doesn't sound impossible. Figure probably only 1000 people the first year, a donation of 5 bucks get you in. Hard to police. Everybody signs a digital waiver, has to be proven so no need for insurance. Am I retarded?

lol, i'm trying to imagine zoomers & alphas going to a modern "woodstock". Bunch of prudes standing around, stock-still, ensuring proper pronouns and good behavior, while rappers and pop stars admonish them for their racism and wrongthink, even though every single one of them checked all the boxes, politically.

You conversely live in a time that is too far removed even from the cynical reactionary response to all that or the irony poisoned response to that too

Today, it would be the musicians themselves interrupting the show to make the statements, sponsored by some large bank or pharamceutical company with a giant digital banner in the background.
