The album art is absolutely horrid. I abhor this 2000s/2010s aesthetic for album covers.

If that were true I wouldn't be listening weekly. But thanks for the mcr thread, appreciate it. Any other hard hitting, emotional, raw albums friends?

I mean, as a big MCR fan, I'd advise you to listen to Ziggy Stardust (the black parade original title was going to the "the rise and fall of mcr" and the first song is literally a copy of 5 years) another Bowie album would be Hunky Dory, the song all the madmen is also amazing, have you listened to JEW ? their album future is good, also Muse's absolution, and Black Holes and Revelations, and Stratovarous Visions/Infinite, maybe something by Thrice ?, just writing my favorites as a fellow mcr fan. A great song by Garfunkel https://youtu.be/m88kgA7rGsU?si=OD70P8-mIJWxnvLY and arcade fire : https://youtu.be/z6c9Ejfu-iU?si=tsPhq5dUUmqcUj0B

Thanks for the recommendations. I like stratovarius. I don't really get David bowie, and listening to 5 years just now I would call it impotent and the opposite of hard hitting (no offense friend). I like without you I'm nothing (placebo song kek) and something in the air. Hard hitting, emotional and raw to me is more AFI, dinosaur Jr - you're living all over me, soad - hypnotize. I think the black parade is a little goofy when it tries to be queen and (i didn't know previously) David bowie. I prefer the first two albums, but the second is the perfect balance of polished and raw. I like some muse and arcade fire songs but do they have albums I can enjoy from start to end? I'll give a listen to all your recommendations

I like AFI https://youtu.be/kvJQ2VeeUOI?si=jaj7ZRyVa0Qk23g4 , but I had never heard of dinosaur Jr before. I'll take a look at arcade fire albums again, I didn't like funeral, but some of their other albums are better, it's so long since I last heard a whole album from them, I forgot whether they have a album that's actually good from start to finish, will revisit now. I'll make a list of some good albums.

(I didn't include emo/punk rock, because I suppose you already know most): (albums) Powerslave/The Number of the beast (iron maiden) Angel of salvation/Phoenix Rising (galneryus) Eden by Luna Sea, Ark by l'Arc en Ciel, Blizzard of Ozz, Crackle (a bauhaus compilation), Ecliptica by sonata arctica Virus by Heavenly, Rebel Yell, The suburbs (the best by Arcade Fire) https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgaFNC_I_ZkkuH43ZTyfMJ_2-utCpNYf0&si=sPqImwNgcrg8enXD (Asia compilation) do you like ELO ? https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzw8D_7QpH2yqjD08Fxn4rFUNFx9d30ZZ&si=0M7Wj_9pRcuzZIBe and the best anime soundtrack ever : https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdshmICYlDhoup71XccBtQpmK9T_wXO52&si=1j0zv508RrhZOqFP

Thanks friend. I love Maiden, my top band ever, although I don't listen to them that often anymore. Do you like their post 2000s albums? I think they're great also. I also know and like the bubblegum crisis songs, kinda nostalgic since I watched it with my mom kek. I also know Ozzy of course. I'll check out the rest.

UFO Strangers in the Night live album is also top. Rock Bottom is my favorite song. I like judas priest too.
Do you guys like The Cure (Bloodflowers), Blonde Redhead (Messenger) and how about Buckethead (Population Override)? It's all emotional, raw, hard hitting for me

I like every Iron Maiden album, some more some less. I like the Cure, one of my favorite bands, never listened to Blonde Redhead though, I'll give it a listen.
Honestly I think Asia, Stratovarius, MCR, L'arc en Ciel and Galneryus, are some of the most underrated bands in history, all of them deserved to be as big as coldplay, but I guess being smaller makes them less "normie" and more special.

Glad to hear. People who limit themselves to only part of Maiden's discography miss out. And I agree, it's better when your favorite things aren't too mainstream. Having more substance is naturally anti-normie so they could never become as big as music made for the masses such as coldplay

They're a little bit less known I guess. I have a soft spot for their first album though I'm sure it's not their most popular
