Yeah, she can sing, dance and even rap very well. She also had huge industry backing, you'll see her at every Met Gala and Grammies but she just never really appealed to the general public. Seems like she's not urban enough to captivate a huge black audience and too black for whites that are typically into pop music.

She stars in hollywood movies, now; she doesn't need validation in the music world. She helped sass man to the moon.

She deserved atleast a strong cult fanbase like a lot of alt-pop acts have. Like there’s barely any discussion or any fandom for her music, even Reddit/twitter who usually have niche communities for more unknown artists and yet there’s like virtually no discussion at all for JM’s music.
