I prefer Megadeth but Kill 'Em All can go toe to toe with the better Megadeth albums.

Metallica's simply the best metal band of all time. It's very easy to realize, just listen to their debut. No other metal band had ever been that long extreme. They invented extreme metal. And don't give me that "venom" garbage, they were dogshit. And Sodom didn't release their legendary EP till 85.

Nah, Motorhead were early speed metal, but the inventors of extreme metal were probably Venom, or at least the genre's biggest promotor in its early days. They upped the speed, downtuned their guitars to C#, used satanic symbolism and a vocal style which was much more extreme than those of their contemporaries.
