I want to hear your most magnanimous, know-it-all takes about music.
Go.

Lots of extreme music genuinely takes a higher intelligence level to be able to fully emotionally relate to, especially when you start traversing into the depths of black metal and crust punk.

music is made by those who hear it, not by the performer.

when a performer plays a musical instrument or sings, they are either expressing music they have made or are imitating someone else's expression of music.

the internet killed the art form of music
it destroyed all of the barriers to entry
all of the exclusivity and the hunt for the next big thing was destroyed in a single generation
challenging or contemplative music no longer serves a purpose, it's all as disposable as a paper straw
the only thing were left with is catchy hook laden music, coomer bops, and music that exists only for shock value
where once it was seen as cool to know some unknown new band, now it's seen as nerdy
thanks fantano

Jazz is especially egregious with elitist pseuds who will hate everything that isn't the most freestyle shit ever that sounds less like a composed piece of music and more like someone just pressed random keys on a keyboard and strangled a cat in front of a microphone.
case in point picrel makes the average jazz nigger seethe.

the irony is that Anthony Fantano pointed basically said all of this in this video:
https://youtu.be/jqqafzK6e8Y?si=pJt_Fnfku5m-eFCI
Though I do think that most of this just comes down to people being lazy and just letting the algorithm pick their shit for them. There is still some good stuff being produced but you will have to find it yourself. It also wasn't necessarily the case that before the internet things were just peachy and everyone was being creative. Actually kind of the opposite, most people just bought what they listened to on the radio which was just mostly pop music and the safest shit ever. Top Charts were always incredibly corporate and manufactured.

you do realize that there was period of time when this album was spread around everywhere like a virus anon? In fact part of the marketing was
>"look guys. this one jap was able to produce a mediocre album after just learning how to play the piano"
Scenery is the jazz equivalent to In the Aeroplane over the sea in how jerked off it was
That being said, why do you take the opinions of others so seriously?

Hot take: music taste is subjective.. and most jazz is banal
