Is he still bitter because he missed out on hundreds of millions? And probably still shitload of money daily from streaming revenue as well?

He's still bitter bcuz you faggots still care about this shit while He and Lars have both realized "shrug we'll never agree about money whatevs" and let it go decades ago.

Not his fault that metalheads are all gossipy junior high school girls who squeeeee everytime they see a new clickbait AI-generated Metallica vs. Megadeth YouTube video of recycled bullshit.

>spends decades bitching about Metallica in every single interview
>Metallica never even responds and became bigger and bigger which only makes this fag seethe harder and double down on his whining
Oh yeah, he's totally over it

well i have never been less impressed by a musician and his band than when some old buddy of mine was shocked i had yet to 'experience' Megadeath and force fed me them for an hour until i made him stop with a violent slap of his fat head. then i stole all his weed and coke and emptied his fridge of indian leftovers on principal. he slowly became a diabetic alcoholic (denying any symptoms and doctors advice) and weighs 400lbs now permanently shut in to his dying mothers basement with swollen legs rivaling Lars and possibly James but definitely Dave's ego.

not really because that is making a monetary point whereas I'm saying it's more a status thing. Yes they are correlated but I would say the money is not as important as just being in the band in itself. It's like being a pro athlete and winning a bunch of championships on a team vs being on a losing team but still making a lot of money. You want the accomplishments eventually and not so much the money.

yeah it's one of those 'what if' situations. If dave wasn't fired would they be as huge? Did they get huge because Dave was fired? Nobody will ever know but he seems to think they'd be the same if not bigger with him so it it hurts him to feel like he missed out.

I mean isn’t getting kicked out but still managing to make a successful band not feel accomplishing for Dave? It hasn’t been done before, it feels like it’s more about missing out on boat loads of cash as he’s also pretty vocal about hating taxes

well in my example I talked about pro athletes. Would you like to be a pro athlete and win lots of championships or be on a ok team but not win any despite making the same money. Yes it's nice to be a pro athlete but you still want the top level of accomplishment available and to Dave it would be being in the biggest band ever. Yes he was successful but Megadeth is not an A-list band, they're probably c-tier at best.

He's still far more minted than most people, and could probably live very comfortably if he never worked another day in his whole life.

I think he's only doing it now out boredom and to leave extra for his kids.

On Joe Rogan, he didn't seem to give a fuck anymore. The stuff that still, even now, occasionally pops up in the press, re: Metallica fued, only seems to do so whenever he has an album released or a tour announced; obviously, just to gain some attention - since there's plenty of video evidence of him getting along just fine with Metallica in recent years.

Megadeth has a better discography than Metallica. Metallica only has MotP. Ride and Kill are partly his work too.

Dave could haven been as big as metallica if he had just one more person in megadeth to challenge him and push the band over the edge and it seems like Marty Friedman had held that kind of role during the height of their fame before they parted ways

That's like any band though. It basically boils down to luck in finding the right members. You need someone who can sing, someone to play guitar well, someone who can write songs, someone who knows how to keep everyone in check, someone who knows the business side, and etc. You need to know how to compromise as well to keep everyone happy otherwise you end up like Smashing Punpkins with one guy doing everything and pissing off the other members to the point where they quit.

He's bitter cause his big ego got bruised during an extremely formative time where he had formed his identity around a certain thing that went bad. It's like your first love but for your identity and career instead of romance. Thing is Metallica isn't big enough for a Hetfield and a Mustaine. That's too many riffmonsters, he was built to compete against him not stand by his side.

I think you're right, he definitely wasn't ready to write the kind of solos Kirk did for Fade to Black. Without Kirk there's also no Trapped under Ice, but Dave could probably come up with something just as good to compensate for that particular loss. Especially your point about shredding, makes you wonder what direction Call of Cthulhu might have gone in. Maybe a primitive Hangar 18 with Dave/James instead of Marty/Dave. But who knows what he would have come up with to make up for such losses.

In a weird way, Dave being fired allowed each side to expand into broader musical territory to extent they otherwise might not have, at least so soon.

What's interesting is he has treated almost every Megadeth band member like how he was treated by Lars & James. Being fired from Metallica was worse than his dad dying, he has said. Its obvious he has been through some trauma. Felt bad for him in that scene in SKOM, he is trapped in 1982.

>>126968042
To be fair his dad was an abusive alcoholic who he spent his whole childhood running away from, whereas he viewed James and Lars as friends and was betrayed by the few people he actually trusted. That's what really got to him out of the whole experience, not the loss of fame or money. It's more about being screwed over by his friends.

He's pissed that he wasn't a part of THE metal band. Sure, he was there in the beginning, but who knows, maybe they wouldn't even get so big, if he was a part of the band. Don't get me wrong, he's a great guitarist, and he did extremely well for himself considering the circumstances, but you never know. Some butterfly effect shenanigans might have taken place.
