The "yowch" is a symbolic resistance against the tremendous pressure to conform. There is all of us an undeniable and beauty spark of individuality and uniqueness. Nietzsche said: “At bottom every man knows well enough that he is a unique being, only once on this earth; and by no extraordinary chance will such a marvelously picturesque piece of diversity in unity as he is, ever be put together a second time.”
The "yowch" is a call to come back to yourself. The absurdism is intended to shatter that blank and pervasive veil over your perception of the world. It creates a rift in the idea that x must mean x and y must mean y. We live our lives bound and dependent on preconceived notions and the ideas we cultivate about things at a very young age. Life is short, and to live fully and meaningfully there is a need to come back to the things that make you you. To quote Dr. Seuss: “Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”
