>Almost every modern pop radio song nowadays is a remix of 90s/00s pop music or at least heavily samples it
Doesnt anyone else notice the shocking lack of creativity on the radio?

I've noticed it. I manage to still find new melodies and hooks in my own writing and there's plenty of non-commercial music being released that manages to do it. Overall, music is in a slump whether it's popular music or independent, that's for sure.
Does anyone with a knowledge of AI music know if it can generate new, interesting melodies or is it all heavily derivative? Not putting my hopes on AI music at all (everything I've heard until now sounds like shit), but I'm curious.

Brazil's "forró" genre nowadays is mostly forró versions of pop songs from 2000. I don't even know if that's legal. The instrumentals are mostly forró but the vocal melody are from old songs.
I heard a brazilian funk one today who also "stole" vocal melody from USA 2000s rap.

To be honest I don't know what to think.
