Not necessary an hard life, but just a life. Doing many diferent things.
This is why mainstream music sucks so much, they're all upper class peopel who were curated into being pop stars since they wrre little kids, by Disney or by their parents.
People liek Mark Sandman didn't had a hard life, but since he worked so many odd jobs, cab driver, fisherman, lived in fucking Brazil and whatnot, really reflected on the music.
