One of the few /mu/core classics that still holds up personally.

Haven't heard anything like it. No other band else has the same emotional ambiguity except for maybe Gastr Del Sol.

Obviously there aren't many recordings from their short career but they sounded incredible live, better than on record imo:

It has a very specific mood so you can't listen to it very often.

Are you really telling me you have listened to the album and it doesn't resonate with you emotionally? Being a contrarian for the sake of it just means you miss out on beautiful things.

there's some kind of special magic to Britt's drumming that I've never heard replicated.

the early version of Washer is so fucking cool. It's a tragedy they broke up after Spiderland, man.

yeah they were fucking idiots for breaking up, together they were way more than the sum of their parts and none of them really did anything notable after even if Britt was "prolific"

me and an old bandmate got into Spiderland around 2014/15 and we both drummed for each others projects and both of us tried to imitate Britt but we were such Slint fanboys that we both didn't think the other had it going let alone ourselves and it led to disappointing results still love the style but now I'm most impressed by John French and Bill Bruford which the ladder I'm just now noticing is comically similar to Britt Walford

Yes, Good Morning Captain is a cool sounding track, but the rest of the album is just worse versions of Good Morning Captain
