When I was in art school 20+ years ago, I was lavished with praise and awards for making algorithmic digital art. Everybody thought it was the future and was excited to see what technology could bring to the fine art world.
Now the idea of computer generated art makes people shit their pants in fear, as though humans are no longer allowed to be expressive and creative now that machines can (kinda) imitate human artists. What happened? Why aren't you kids excited by this?
No creative should fear technological progress. You don't need to embrace it, but to shun it shows you're closed-minded.
