100 years ago the city was dubbed the "Paris of America" because of its beauty. In the 1930s, FDR's administration commissioned artists to paint beautiful murals all over the city which glorified autoworkers by showcasing them as heroes (picrel).

Now Detroit's culture is nothing but ugliness, and because of this its residents have lost any shred of optimism or solidarity. It doesn't matter if you bring the jobs back. As long as Detroit remains a bastion of ugly culture it will never recover.

Hip hop's biggest tragedy is that we will never get a Dilla-DOOM collab album.

Some of his beats did teach me to not make my drum beats so robotic. Still Shinin by Busta Rhymes was pretty groovin.

Can you name some beats you didn't like?
For me, I thought Eyes Up was a little too repetitive. It had a great guitar sample, but it needed more samples and/or more change ups.
