I'm still not over it. Probably the most difficult musician death I've ever grappled with.

>but not a tragic loss

Didn't mean to imply otherwise. I'm happy he's finally at rest. It's more of a cosmic sort of sadness, knowing a mind that has brought me so much joy since I was a child is no longer among us.

experience more of it and you will feel more at ease. when one your grandparents or parents die, make sure to see the corpse, touch it, try hugging the corpse to see what it feels like, what emotions it triggers if any. ask the people who were with them the exact moment they died to tell you exactly how it went down.

if they live for a really long time they often end up like a disturbing caricature of themselves (especially with dementia) and you will learn to see death as more of a blessing than a curse

I was ready for it but it's still sad. I think he lived a long life and accomplished great things and you can admire that while mourning.

Don't worry anon, I understand. It wasn't too surprising because he had dementia and wasn't really himself by that point anymore.

yup, this. My grandma at the end was a shell of herself and barely functioning.
