It was a lot of pressure because everybody looked up to them, after John left us George probably felt nostalgic about the days they were making history together. It was a bloody road that took Epstein, Stu, eventually John and many of their friends too, but it was also where they got their recognition, respect and even their money from, back when the grass was green.
