I had a hardcore punk buddy growing up but he was simultaneously a great guitarist and when he got fucked up all the time sometimes he'd start to praise things like Drop Dead Legs, and one time he got wasted on vodka and started covering like 50% of Hot For Teacher really well. My point I guess is a lot of young people fail to see the bigger picture with Van Halen they're not just another Aerosmith or Guns n Roses, they're not just another shredder metal band, theres a humor to them, theres an insane proficiency to them a balance of guitar style that you don't get from their contemporaries. Its a band any music fan should appreciate well beyond the genre. I showed my gf Could This Be Magic and she was forever changed like she'd been waiting to hear it her whole life. I'm an old zoomer for reference
