Buddy Rich- massive technical abilities but ZERO groove ...
Also, even though personality doesn't necessarily have any relation to skills and talent, his even more massive insecurities and ego fueled by years of over the top praise for his technical skills made him largely devoid of the sensitivity and humility that allow truly great musicians to get out of the way and play for the music alone...everything he played was at its core about him rubbing everyone's faces in his alleged superiority, and challenging anyone to disagree.
As much as I absolutely hate the term in most cases where it is applied to creative works, it is entirely accurate to say that his playing is soulless.

He was a phenomenal drummer in his own right, but the fame and legacy had far more to do with his involvement in show business than his abilities as a musician. People conflate the two, when the reality is that he was a celebrity who was also a great drummer. Those were separate things.

Kurt never stood on a pedestal and talked about how great he was. He was very self-critical and would probably be the first to say he's not very technically skilled. His power as a musician was that he could write damn good songs and he did, and they're still great 30 years post. I don't think the fact that he was handsome hurt, but tons of musicians are attractive so that doesn't mean much. Statistically most of them are flops.

I don't really care to dispute the other two because they're just objectively phenomenal bands. You don't have to like them but I'm not complaining that they're highly regarded.
