Most countries had a prog scene in the 70s, even places like Brazil and Argentina.

not only did they have a prog scene, their brand of prog is among the best the genre had to offer

Argentina had a prog scene, Brazil had a few great bands, but not quite a scene itself
few brazilian artists were quite able in blending rock subgenres and brazilian music

Dude even Turkmenistan had its own prog bands. Prog and jazz fusion were a genuine worldwide phenomenon.
