I'm convinced that jazz is all just a charade for psueds to pretend they're intellectual. The music has no purpose, no motivating spirit, no substance. Jazz is music for inferior creatures to believe they are intellectual because they crafted music that is "complex", as if it's some measure of quality, while not realizing that complexity needs order to justify itself.

jazz can be aimless and forced a lot of the time but every once in awhile when you hear how the rhythm sections are contrasted by the lead melody you hear borderline original melodic harmonies that can make you feel in ways you don't hear from typical genres, Miles Davis as cliche as he is is my best example of this

It's like techno music is fun when you're at a party or on a long drive, but you don't sit in a dark room listening to an EDM song on headphones. Different music plays different roles.
