If this were considered a Bowie album it would be the best in his catalog, maybe Low would be on par. It's a shame that he didn't stick in this lane with Iggy because the production of this is totally gnarly and innovative, then you have Iggy's despondent singing which is perfect for the music. Incredible

Yes, it's a great album and probably in the Bowie top ten (maybe even top five) but not his best. By far Iggy's best. As for carrying on like this, they did but Lust for Life is not nearly as good (IMHO).

Anyway, what's Zeke doing?

I absolutely agree. Bowie was always at his best when he produced and wrote for other people desu. Hell, he admitted as much himself. He was never able to authentically express himself as David Robert Jones. thats why he always had to get into those silly personas like ziggy, or the coke nazi, or even "David Bowie".

It's good. I saw Iggy a couple of years ago he pretty much just played Stooges songs and Lust for Life. Think he did I'm Bored and 5'3". No Idiot songs. Anyways it's a good Bowie album but I think Lust for Life is a bit better even though it's not as unique or innovative. And Funhouse will always be Iggy's peak and I listen to it more than any Bowie album and all credit goes to Ron Ashton for those crazy riffs.

It's a much more balanced collaboration than most critics or even fans give it credit for. Bowie's music accentuates Iggy's lyrics and vice versa. Also The Idiot-->Low-->Heroes is the real Berlin Trilogy.

That's also why Low is so amazing too. Bowie didn't give a shit how well the album did and didn't bother promoting it as a fuck you to his record label. So you get an authentic David Jones in a limited capacity and the album is genius

But Bowie produced the album, wrote the music, and was involved in many of the lyrics since songs like Sister Midnight were carried over from the STS era. It seems like Iggy had more of a say for the music and sound of Lust for Life after Bowie's control of The Idiot
