Drummers are rarer than guitarists and wannabe singer/songwriters so they more or less have to be guns for hire, and therefore less pretentious. Growing up there was just one drummer our age who played with every teenage band in the neighbourhood, and he only had the kit because his dad was also a drummer.

I’m the one drummer that is good in my small town. If some asshole guitarist tried to critique my playing while also not knowing what a pocket is id leave his band drummerless or find a different asshole guitarist that can shut up and play
