Nobody (talking mainly Marvel movies and car commercials here) uses their songs anymore outside of those and, personally, I never have to hear The Weight again. It's as overplayed as Sweet Home Alabama or Fortunate Son.
They also rank fairly low on legacy lists of stuff like "50 Greatest Albums" or whatever. Even I never listen to much outside of their self titled and The Basement Tapes, and maybe a few choice performances from Last Waltz. None of the members are famous or infamous; there was never a real breakout star among them that became a household name, no Rod Stewart or Sam Cooke. Nobody really talks about The Band or any of its members anymore. Before Robbie died when was the last time Dylan had mentioned any of them in an interview? It'd probably been years.
