If it's jealousy then why is it specifically him? Is he just that good? The problem was that he didn't live up to his image and that's why he pissed people off. Jerry Garcia said that his entire persona was directly ripped from Mick Jagger on the Rolling Stones 1966 US tour. So why not hate Mick Jagger then? I think they hated Jim Morrison because he was basically an actor and added nothing to music in the full scheme of things.
