Have you ever clicked on one? Would you ever click on one?

I'm an occasional poster, and I've thought about advertising my music here when it's finished, but honestly I see more negatives than positives. It seems that beyond the usual hostility, you risk getting people fatigued, like with a forced meme, and it could ironically discourage mention of your music because no one wants to look like they're the artist shilling, and you don't want actual conversation to look like you're shilling.

Thoughts?

The banner ads this site offers. That's another consideration, in that most people here probably use adblockers.

I've never clicked on any ad on the internet, on this site or any other, nor will I ever do so as long as I live.

dno but I don't think anyone with a brain would be mad if the music they discover through your ad is actually good. if you're shilling and the music sucks, well, that's bound to piss off someone.

This. Why in hell would I ever do that? I'd rather shake a sick person's hand than click an ad
