Rubinoos
Beat
dB's
20/20
Barracudas
Last
Any Trouble
Squeeze
Tickets
Buddy Love
Milk n Cookies
Pointed Sticks
Fast Cars
Incredible Kidda Band
Young Canadians
Vapors
Spongetones
Bongos
Action Now

These all do real power pop. Big Star is more of a shitty hard rock band.

most of these are just squeaky new wave skinny tie gayshit freddie and the dreamers tier quirk pop bands: opinion discarded
the best power pop is jangle pop with hard rock drumming stuff like the replacements, the letters, flamin groovies, gigolo aunts, ratcat, xtc, cloud nothings, poison, cheap trick, the dentists, the hummingbirds, sugar and the tubs who's sound can all be traced back to radio city

I mentioned a wide variety of bands. There's stuff that leans towards punk, jangle, glam, garage, mod and new wave, all while still being firmly power pop. I'm willing to bet you have never listened to most of them.

You instead mention other not power pop shit like Poison and XTC (as well as admiringly good bands like Hummingbirds and Dentists). Even someone like the Replacements are only sporadically power pop.

literally the only band i posted that comes close to new wave is xtc you're retarded

>I'm willing to bet you have never listened to most of them.
i have i just think any of them are worth listening to other than the beat, squeeze and the speedies, most of them are just contrarian substitutes for bigger bands, e.g,
>dB's
soft boys
>Any Trouble
elvis costello
>Pointed Sticks
buzzcocks
>Action Now
the records
>You instead mention other not power pop shit like Poison and XTC
how are either these songs not power pop?

yeah they knew to keep their discography varied so that every song didn't sound exactly the same like a the real kids album

Those wouldn't even be my favorites. They're among the famous though, which would explain why you picked them.
>most of them are just contrarian substitutes for bigger bands
But you haven't even posted similar bands. The dB's lack the Soft Boys' post punk component. The Pointed Sticks are garage rock oriented while the Buzzcocks are pop punk.
