Can someone explain this to me. My dad has played guitar all his life. My little brother starts taking guitar lessons 3 years ago and now he's already better than my dad.

Art is transmitted through direct contact, not solo practice. Your dad is probably a much better teacher than he is a player and your brother picks it up easily because higher neuro plasticity. It's just a win win situation. Sports work the same
