I just sat through the vast majority of Talking Heads live @ Montreux in 82. I am never ever listening to this band again except for the singles.

It was just always on the edge of seeming like a decent song I'd never heard before was sure to pop up soon, but not one emerged. Dull and lifeless except for the hits.

Well yes, they're a singles band. You didn't know this? They have like three good songs.

I can't think of another band I've spent as much time listening to without getting into as Talking Heads. Over the years I've listened to their whole discography because they seen adjacent to some stuff I do enjoy and they're constantly being recommended to me, but outside of Remain in Light everything ranges from awful to forgettable.

Unironically just go through the list of bands Brian Eno worked with or produced. That's the secret to a lot of bands from this era, they simply gave a lot of creative influence/control to Eno.

Basically yea. They're fine as a gateway band but I don't think their music has much depth.

Different poster but I hate Psycho Killer. I've always thought it was annoying and for a long time I just seemed to be exposed to it constantly against my will.

I don't see what's special with Psycho Killer and the part sung in French is really cringe as someone French.
Take me to the river is extremely boring.
I have no memories of the last 2 albums desu.
