no, it's at least an 8.5, particularly given that a 7.7 on pitchfork is basically equivalent to a 6 on a normal distribution

i think it's a cool concept album. it seems very futuristic and the idea of learning to be human is almost like ai, i think it's ironic but funny

No, this is a 4 at best. Ridiculously cringe and corny shit throughout, with like 3 or 4 good melodies total. Sounds like something they would have played in an educational video that tried too hard to be cool for kids.

Ok, guys, i have listened to this one and you were right, I loved it. I am not familiar to this type of pop, but this feels so beautiful and heavenly. I have to listen more, but first impressions were good. what other albums are similar to this?

I think this album has higher highs, but Imaginal Disk is more solid overall

i can't believe something /mu/ shilled is also one of my favourite new albums. i ignored it for so long because of it being praised here. even as someone who doesn't care for pop, i'm thoroughly impressed and think it's 11/10 as far as the genre goes. simply having a whole album vision/concept with segues and all does wonders. there's so much pleasant and attention grabbing moments to it.

Why does it sound like a Twin Peaks soundtrack?

Anything higher than a 7.5 is giving it too much credit. Mildly engaging synth pop that's only reached the heights it has thanks to being broadly appealing but simultaneously just weird enough to make hipsters think they're listening to something special. It's a good time for sure, but the worship this album gets online is completely unwarranted.

And why does everything have to sound like dance pop. It all sounds the same and people act like its anything different
