Sabbath were both ridiculously heavy and wispily folky with Djano Reinhardt touches. They were true originals and one of my fav bands. They spawned entire genres of bands that tried to sound like them.

absolutely love how this record sounds. has a nice "dustiness" to it, and geezer's bass sounds so fuckin good. it might not be my favourite sabbath record purely from a "how many great songs are on it" perspective, but it's comfortably their best sounding imo.

Probably their best record, and the one where they finally found the sound that lived up to their eponymous song. Vol.4 and SBS are okay as follow-ups, but Sabotage is its own thing and it's just as great as Master of Reality.

Master of Reality is mixed how all of Sabbath should have been tbqh, especially Lord of this world and Into the void.

If anything it was Paranoid that sounded thin in the mixing. I never liked the original mix of Vol 4 that much too but it has a bunch of different mixes out there these days, this one sounds good.
