A lot of people are pretty intimidated when they see us metalheads but what you might not have known is that... we're all actually super wholesome! Metalheads are like one big family and we look out after each other! We're not looking for trouble and really, we're just trying to have fun and build a community that everyone can feel a part of! So when you see us banging our heads (that's our form of dancing, it's called "headbanging") and "moshing" (there are a lot of rules so that everyone is safe), don't think that we're dangerous.

You might be surprised to hear this but outside of the often very dark music we listen to (System of a Down, Sabaton, etc.) a lot of us are normal people just like you! We go to work and love our children just like everyone else! We participate in democracy and love to vote too! And yeah, there are some people in the metal community who think anything that isn't metal isn't good music but those are fortunately in the minority. Yeah, I'm talking about "those guys". No one likes "those guys". Don't be "that guy", guys. True metal heads are open to any and all music. You know, when I'm not busy listening to SLAYERRR!!!, I sometimes even like to put on some good ol' pop while doing housework! [cut away to two men with long hair headbanging to Taylor Swift - Shake it Off]

"But how can I become one of you guys???" you might ask. Well, the answer is simple, my friend. You want to be a metalhead? Well, congratulations, you now ARE a metalhead! There are no prerequisites for joining us! So throw those horns and let the power of the RIFF take you away, mwuhahaha!! *looks at the ceiling, makes an exaggerated face and slowly raises hand while doing the devil's horn*

Most metalheads are just nerds. The most intimidating ones who seemed like trouble that I remember seeing when I went to metal shows was the guys wearing Hatebreed t-shirts. I'm from Texas. It's guys who listen to bands like them and Spite and join the Cossacks.

Not really. For many it's comfy even (which is a bit of a problem for me, I've always found it like that and that put me off metal for AGES).
But shaving my head (I'm just going bald) really freaks people out when they think you're a skinhead. Like they cringe in disgust and are uneasy around you.

It's fucking stupid I'm just balding ffs. Way to make me feel worse about the situation (actually it's just funny to me).

You don't see many people over 35 at gigs anymore kek. When I first went to gigs, aged 23, everyone was over 40 at gigs. Now 30, things have... changed... a lot.
A lot of youth gangs now.

And I'm still 10 years or so in limbo between these two demographics.
