my question is whats going to happen to the music industry once all the actual talented people and rock gods die off and all we are left with is mumble rappers who are irrlvant cause rap doesnt like old people and taylor swift.
killing off rock will eventually lead to the death of the music industry, sweet revenge
>>127139071 Ah yes Ozzy Osbourne and Brian Wilson, my favorite e-celebs

>>127139058 In her case the problem is US radio absolutely stopped caring about her after 1965 and although she had success in Europe in her later years her hits didn't made the cut onto oldies radio playlists. I'd wager to say most people after boomers have never even heard them.
It makes you realise how empty the world must have been before the explosion of recording technologies in the 20th century. Our parents grew up thinking they were in 'it', the thing that the rest of existence before photographs had been leading up to. Now the tech is old enough for the culture (phenomenon) constructed from it to be experiencing a complete turnover - we're living through the last stages of the first cycle now as the boomers die off - and Rock Hudson and Cilla Black fade away into relative unimportance to Billie Eilish and whatever kpop star's name I can use as an example, the slop of it all is becoming apparent.
Do we need any more music? That's not a rhetorical question. I still feel the itch despite knowing there isn't any thing to be done. Why is that?
>>127139095 And unlike Brenda Lee she didn't have a Christmas song to keep her on the airwaves.

>>127139095 The Beach Boys also got punted from US radio in the late 60s though at least they eventually had a shitty 80s hit and their 61-65 hits didn't get swallowed into a black hole. I've never heard a Connie Francis song on a 50s-60s playlist, honest I haven't.
>>127139095 staying relevant depends on whether you have someone to support you (a rock critic or a producer or record executive) even the Monkees had support which is why their songs continued to be played

>>127137644 (OP) I managed to correctly predict that Ozzy would die this month, but that's because I've been predicting the same thing since 2014, I finally got it right :-) , now, only Paul, Elton, and Jagger are left.
>>127139115 >It makes you realise how empty the world must have been before the explosion of recording technologies in the 20th century That's a very modern view, there were (and are) more things to life than listening to music
>>127137644 (OP) These kind of things always come in threes.....

I think Henry Rollins will killed soon. He will be walking the street somewhere and an African American will see the old white man as an easy target
>>127137713 Ecelebs have already replaced musicians and artists as the main entertainers and idols. They'll just spend the next 100+ years shitting out more spastics humiliating themselves in public, screaming into microphones hyperbolically and faggots arguing political platitudes to keep the masses entertained.
