How come this album, and Richard Dawson in general, have rarely ever been brought up on this board? This is one of the nicest pieces of prog-adjacent music to come out in the last 15 years, and i feel like it managed to maximize the potential of what all of those noodling commune-larping ''freak folk'' bands that were all the rage in the 2000s were trying to do, by featuring top tier musicianship and emotional anchors that weren't gimmicky at all. I'm amazed that it took me this long to hear about this guy, and I can only imagine what other interesting still active musicians are buried under the digital waves of astroturfed landfill indie and tryhard experimental trannies.
