Have you, your friends or anyone in your immediately family met musicians in a personal setting?
My sister saw Justin Bieber as a street performer before he got famous when she was on vacation in Canada.
My Cousin twice removed, grew up near Holly Wood and knows quite a couple big musicians from when they were teens / young adults like Anthony from Red Hot Chile Peppers. Though said cousin is someone I've only met once since he's always getting into trouble or partying somewhere.

My cousin-in-law was the 2nd singer for Skid Row. One time at a holiday dinner he was talking about the idea that there were only so many chord progressions etc so basically all the songs had already been written before. I interjected in a very accusatory tone and asked him "Oh yeah, well have you ever Slint?!?" The whole table of about 15 people got totally quiet and he just no and then everybody went right back to talking.

Phil Anselmo dropped into my store and we hung out with his missus Kate and JB. I gave them a ride back to their hotel (that's another story), got free tix to his gig too. He returned next time he was in town a year later and snuck through the back exit to surprise me. It's not every day you see Phil Anselmo sneaking up behind you to surprise you. It was fucking funny. He served customers, took a phone call, was singing to AIC out aloud. A true gentleman.

If you count Fallon, you are referring to Seb himself. If not, it must be Solinger.

There are in theory infinite chords cause we can deliberately play out of tune but nobody does that

Theoretically microtonal music offers infinite possibilities, but in practice they're still finite because the human ear/brain can't pick up the difference between two frequencies that are too close together, so a note tuned to 261.626 Hz won't be meaningfully different from 261.627 Hz.
It might make a small difference if you're dealing with just-intonation and you need those perfect intervals, but even then after a certain (pretty small) number of decimals it makes no difference at all.
Not to mention how the vast majority of them sounds terrible and the systems/combinations/relationships that sound good aren't that many, and most listeners don't really want to hear them so if you're not ok with doing "weird" niche music, you're not going to venture that far from 12TET.

My sympathies anon. Any fond stories with him you'd care to share? In a reflective mood. I understood what you meant, do you have any Slint music you'd like to recommend?

Thank you. That's actually a really big one for me because it's a very /mu/ story. Spiderland is a very /mu/core album then combined with my austistic screeching its just perfect. But this was before 4chan existed maybe not by much. Maybe 2003.

The stories I'm thinking are all of me just acting like an idiot. When they first started dating when I was about 10 I tried to give him shit about his long hair. I think I said it makes him look like a girl and I tried to be really rude about it. Then maybe about a decade later when I had long hair he did not let me forget it. But he was super nice about it.

Sounds like he was a great guy who took it in his stride with much aplomb and good humour. Skid Row's longest serving singer, as well. Too bad they fired him. As much as Seb Bach was difficult as a person, evidently the band seemed to have trouble holding onto singers which would suggest maybe the band weren't so easy to deal with either?

If the thread is still up I'll provide my 2 cents on Spiderland. Look forward to checking it out. Johnny died too young, such a shame. His estate didn't keep his website up either. Liver failure, damn.
