It's always these three for some reason.
Dregs are algorythm-core at this point.
>>127146616boris is rymcore which is worse.
>Midori
Nah, never listened to em.
>>127147994I wanted to fuck her so bad at the peak of my yellow fever. She must be getting on now.
>>127148197They're worth listening to, but start with the 2003 Demo, that's the correct way.
>>127146302 (OP)RYM shit for nerds with no personalities
>>127148210Did you see the ads for the pink anniversary tour? It seems shes getting like wine: the older the better
>>127148965You need me to explain to you why RYM core is specifically catered to idiots who can't think for themselves?
Midori isn't rym-core. It's jpopsuki-core.
And now mostly remembered because of one novelty song that isn't even in their top 20 best songs.
>>127148940I just had a look, she uses too much skin whitener now and more make-up.
>>127146979Saw em twice in the 2010s, 14' & 17'. Overrated Melvins copy cats, they think they're My Bloody Valentine but they lack the subtlety. Zakk Wylde or KiKi Wong could rip waaaaay harder but they were fun while they lasted
If someone wants a Subrosa vinyl in mint shape I'll trade or sell for a reasonable amount
>>127149167>jpopsukiFuck, I forgot it existed and now my account has been deleted.
Getting an invite on /int/ was one of the best things that has happened to me on 4chan.
>>127146302 (OP)>violence>anime>pron>japanese woman>white backgroundthere's some deeper unconscious meaning to be read into here
Midori missed out on western tour money big time. I think both boris and dregs do way more show in the west than japan.
>>127146302 (OP)This is better and has a male vocalist

>has a male vocalist
That's a very bad thing.
>>127149546I mostly listen to instrumental music but Jiro is a very emotive and versatile singer. Same vibes as the ones in the OP

>>127149613Yeah, i listened to them.
Still falls under"japanese men shouldn't sing" rule.
It came up in my recommended

Listen to Downy and Dir En Gray if you want to broaden your thing Japan-core
I always liked the frog album, Pink, Flood, Feedbacker, and Rainbow from Boris. I actually just got into Midori like a week ago after not being able to get into them before they broke up. The Mass of Fermenting Dregs never did anything for me.
>>127150653Add Ling Tosite Sigur. There used to be this french weeb trip back in the day and you basically posted her taste. Add Toe.

I wish Mariko didn't hate Midori so much.

Midori loremaster here. For anyone who likes them, I recommend listening to the first 2 demos (not First and Second which are EPs, First Demo and Second Demo which have a bunch of unreleased songs).
Before Midori, Mariko was in an indie rock band called Usagi. Still fairly raw but way more melodic and chill than Midori https://youtu.be/_hFmr3DcWmM?t=233.
After Midori, Mariko released 3 indie-rock solo albums as a solo act: 299792458 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kHWoSHf-pd-1chRaCt-TtHH4-W3WWnbRc, m@u https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kLnaIADJVMkY5Yjmy1SJz9XpNH7QovBjE and Kowareta https://youtu.be/3nzwtno5oro; an (awesome) hardcore electro-dance album as DJ510Mariko https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_nEUcVvuLDOQvmU20Q8bNB0WmjDOSkTrys, as well as some singles, and a couple of very cute pop-folk albums as Mariko Goto Acoustic Violence Pop. She recently released some new singles, and is still working on solo music.
The keyboardist, Hajimetal, is the most prolific of the ex-members. He is currently a session and live pianist for Glay, a HUGE visual-kei adjacent rock band, has his own small band, Mezcolanza, which I hate, and has worked as a live/session musician or composer for essentially every Japanese artist in history https://hajimetal.jimdofree.com/works-2023/.
The drummer played in a fairly popular band, but his dad got sick and he retired from music to take care of him.
The bassist still plays in a bunch on indie jazz groups, my favorite being Oncenth Trio, a fairly avant-garde trio.
For some adjacent acts:
385 (progressive hardcore punk?) and Bleach03 (hardcore punk). MIYA plays on both bands, bass and voice, and she's friends with Mariko. Miya also plays in Zazen Boys, the new band created by Mukai, the vocalist/guitarist of Number Girl, and this has allowed her to reunite Bleack03 and 385 for new live shows.
Kokeshi Doll, screaming hardcore punk girls.
Seiko Oomori, has done a live kwspfeature with Mariko.
>>127146302 (OP)Boredoms deserve the attention these three got but its a shame they're not on spotify
>>127159479Character limit reached :)
Ni-Hao! and Limited Express, Has Gone? are cheery punk bands. Some of their members know and have played with Mariko.
Otoboke Beaver, screaming hardcore punk girls.
Tsushimamire, non-screaming pop-punk girls.
Bokutachi no Iru Tokoro, screaming, AWESOME hard-rock girls https://youtu.be/Baq-bo_cc8A?t=795
UrbanFeti, aka someone please upload their whole discography https://youtu.be/9dri-wWFafk
I have a digital copy of the Aratamemashite, Hajimemashite, Midori Desu lyrics book which also has some art and pics if anyone's interested in the upload. Also looking for the vinyl if it ever pops up for under $1000 =)
An opportunity to nitpick, nice.
>I recommend listening to the first 2 demos
I won't recommend listening to second demo to anyone. It's very bad.
>not First and Second which are EPs
Second is an album.
>indie rock band called Usagi
They were a JUDY & MARY cover band turned punk band. Their album was released after the band broke up and Mariko to this day refuses to aknowledge it.
>Mariko released 3 indie-rock solo albums
None of those are indie-rock. Especially not the indie part.
>very cute pop-folk albums
Cute, if you don't know the lyrics(most of them, some of those songs are actually positive).
>The bassist
Which one? They never had a full-time bass player.
>Zazen Boys, the new band created by Mukai
It's weird to call a 22yo band "new"
>this has allowed her to reunite Bleach03 and 385 for new live shows
385 never stopped doing shows, Bleach reunited because they felt like it after doing their usual one-off show in Okinawa(i was at their reunion show in Tokyo this year, fun times)
>Seiko Oomori
I don't know how she feels about her now, but back in the day Mariko openly hated Shitko.
>>127159582>Some of their members know and have played with MarikoIt would be harder to find a band in that scene that doesn't know or played with Mariko.
>Otoboke BeaverMore of a Tsushimamire clone.
>TsushimamireHave way more in common with Super Junky Monkey than Midori.
>Bokutachi no Iru TokoroAs blatant a copy they were, still an amazing band. Too bad that one single they released 2 years ago was juste a one-off, i would like a new album.
Should've at least mentioned Akaikurage. There are also a lot of other younger artists influenced by Mariko(especially if you include alt idols).
>>127159944Are you like, meaner deadgrandma?
>>127160303Just a Goto fan.
>deadgrandmaIt's sad that jpopsuki is a zombie site now, but at least i don't have to deal with faggots like that anymore.
Oh, about new solo music, next month Mirai will be released on vinyl with two bonus tracks(both are good, at least live, don't know how she arranged them for the studio version). And 4 DJ songs are currrently in the works, so the possibility of new album release this December is fairly high, unless something bad happens with her mental health again.
>>127151539cover me shakespeare is a great album, sadly not on streaming as a typical japanese autist band, which limits their reach
>>127146616Which is weird because they aren't popular in Japan, at all
I bet their north American tour sold more tickets than their own Japan tours
>>127160584Oh, and as another bit of useless information, she started doing free improvisation shows (both vocals and guitar) again. Linked up with Tetsuya Nakamura(Blankey Jet City, multiple works with John Zorn). Next one will feature a very talented young female sax player - Nakamura Ruby.
>>127160687They aren't mainstream popular, but pretty well known. A bunch of bands(including tricot) mention them as influence.
>>127154244Yeah I've been listening to second and the anime titties one. I need to give First another listen but Shinsekai doesn't do much for me
>>127159511Boredoms are so fucking good but even here people never got into them past Vision Creation Newsun.
>>127161109>Shinsekai doesn't do much for meIf Harumero wasn't a thing that would've been their best album.
>>127146979calling it, I'm gonna get a phone call from my zoomer sister talking about this obscure old band called CAN
>>127151538No, I'm naming calling you for:
1. Having no personality and just hopping on the RYM band wagon
2. Listening to exclusively female vocalist (like a tranny/fag, though in your close probably a closeted fag)
>>127161319Nvm relistening to Shinsekai right now and it clicked
Japanese is a really good language for singing. It's almost all hard consonants followed immediately by vowels and almost every word ends in a vowel. It naturally sounds like "sing song" language like going la-di-da-dee-da or whatever
>>127161928Incels love these shitty Japanese bands because they want to aggressively fuck little Japanese girls
>>127161576Those tags give me an aneurysm.
>>127161792It happens. Now watch Sayonara Goto-san for the complete experience(just not on youtube, that rip is ass).
>>127161950Either that or they're tranny's
>>127161637>Having no personality and just hopping on the RYM band wagon>Listening to exclusively female vocalist (like a tranny/fag, though in your close probably a closeted fag)What a weird projection. That site is still miles better than this cesspool anyway
>>127146302 (OP)Real ones know it's this one
midori is soulful despite being rymcore, the rest are safe weeb trash, same as
>>127161576midori used to be a 4chan band way back in the day, shame how times can change
