His brain is busted beyond belief. It's like all of his energy came from cigarettes and now that he's stopped smoking he's a half conscious mess. Every new project is like a degraded and more lethargic version of This Old Dog. Five Easy Hot Dogs didn't even have lyrics and put me to sleep. He claims to be more comfortable, well-off, and healthy now. But he seems severely mentally diminshed. If he had died in 2017, it would have been for the best. Because he basically did.

He's perpetually walking on eggshells afraid of being cancelled. He just want's to fulfill his label contract and release the most unthreatening music possible until everyone gradually forgets who he is and he can retire in peace

I only associate this guy with Salad Days because of that school shooter that was listening to that song while doing the deed

Its crazy how people expect musicians to stay relevant and putting out top material after 10+ years. Just let him live and put out what he wants

he just makes chill music at his own leisure for his own self, much like some of these kids just make beats on soundclound with no real aspirations behind it. it's certainly not impressive, nor is it taken seriously, but it's alright. famous musicians don't ever really get to that stage, desu.

Strawman fagot. Practically all artists peak and proceed to make 5-7/10 records the rest of their life. Duh. There's a difference between that and an artist rather quickly making the absolute most sluggish and lifeless music imaginable. Listen to the following records:

>Rock and Roll Night Club
>2
>Salad Days
>Another One
>This Old Dog

Then immediately listen to these:

>Here Comes the Cowboy
>Five Easy Hot Dogs
>One Wayne G

This Old Dog did a good job at balancing his downtempo sound with his more upbeat spirit. Then he released Here Comes the Cowboy. Everything about that album seemed lazy. The song titles, the artwork, the music videos, and the tired musical style that was already explored on This Old Dog. Except this time it was bereft of the good songwriting. It's just extremely chilled out and soporific little ditties. Quite forgettable. That laziness has since somehow been dialed up even more. Ever since then I have refused to fully listen to his projects. He just doesn't care at all anymore, and not in a badass way. He's creatively rotting. This is what it sounds like when an artist completely runs out of steam.

that 600 song album of demos he dropped last year had to be the most unself aware admission of his mediocrity as a songwriter, especially in his lack of desire to properly finish these songs it really cements him as a has been well past his creative peak. none of those songs are ever had a chance to be like tracks off 2 or Salad Days because theyre nameless, uninspired, and unfinished

I would have agreed with you until I heard the Here Comes the Cowboy demos which I like better than the studio version.
