Do you also associate Taj Mahal Travellers and Flower Travellin' Band? I can't think of one without remembering the other even though they are so different just because both are Japanese 70s bands with travel in the name.

Take it back. Faust is one of my favorite albums. It mogs Lumpy Gravy and the second half of Tago Mago at combining musique concrete with rock. The folk sections are beautiful and the ending is one of my all time favorites.

The cult surrounding it has definitely disappeared. At least here. I don't get much out of listening to them any more. When I was 17 I met a girl who owned a singing saw because she loved Neutral Milk Hotel. I don't think girls like that exist in 2025.

Nah I reckon it's true. I used to listen to Satori heaps when I was a teenager and I think the jap thing had a lot to do with it cause revisiting it really isn't anything special especially considering how good some of the other similar heavy rock of the time is.

Shinki is a different story though that stuff is great. Also >>127151531 is pretty out of this world.

It's been a while since I've seen a serious thread about Merzbow. We used to have them. Someone would post Pulse Demon and then someone would say they preferred Flare Gun and then someone would explain that noise is actually psychedelia and then someone would say they prefer early Merzbow which is tape loop oriented and say Memorial Gadgets is a musique concrete masterpiece and then someone would say Antimonument is better.

I think the new albums are good too. Jsut not really folk punk anymore they stopped wanting to be faster NMH so bad and started wanting to be other old E6 bands like elf power and apples in stereo. I get alot more neo psych or psych pop from the newer stuff. And i think its mostly just caus they got bored of doing accoustic only or acoustic + fuzz guitar. So now there is more room for building our weirder and more varied shit.
