>try to outplay your riffs, licks and solos every single gig
>despite being complex and you improv changing song structure all the time to ride the intros and solos, you still hit 99%+ of notes
>"Hendrix wasn't that good bro, he missed all the time"
What causes this?
People that shit on Hendrix's guitar playing do so out of the same place as people who claim the Beatles weren't actually influential. It's just an attempt to claim that something universally recognized isn't actually real to try and seem like you've found some kind of viewpoint that everyone else missed. Pure juvenile egoism.
>>127160875 (OP)no one who plays guitar thinks he wasn't good
you can hit every note but if it sounds shit it doesn't matter, this is what I don't get about a lot of these nerds, they're hitting all their notes at lightning speed but it sounds like aural diarrhoea
they think he was shit because he used feedback
>>127163205As a guitarist, no. As a whole artist, for sure.
Despite hitting all his notes, I think we can all agree that he never wrote a memorable song.
>>127163502No one agreed on this. Just more bullshit you try to push around here.
His first album is full of songs that have played endlessly. Maybe to the point of people getting burned out a bit.
