What does /mu/ think of Tool? I have completed the disco almost completely but I am a slow listener and I prefer relistening albums from time to time to really little let the music settle before I move on to the next one instead of speedrunning through a disco. Although on one hand I can already see myself craving more once I am done (any 10/10 reccs?) on the other hand I know that I am already blessed and can just keep relistening to what I already have if I find nothing out there. Picrel is my favorite album so far. Not sure why but I get the feeling that a lot of people dislike it and prefer the older albums. Perhaps because it is the entry level/most popular album. I don't care too much, I just want more of this.

The vocals are really lame and amateurish to the point of being unlistenable. The music itself is nothing special, just repetitive, boring prog metal rhythms being played quietly and then loudly over and over again. The whole "dude drugs lmao open your third eye bro" theme that encompasses their entire existence is supremely low IQ and lame.

They peaked on Aenema, then had one more great album with Lateralus. Every single thing after that is trash, whether it's skillfully played or not.

never thought i'd call a Tool enjoyer based but you are indeed.

from what i remember, they sounded sort of gay and muted. the vocals didnt stand out, and the beat/guitar or whatever felt like strung out midwit frequencies the whole time
