I haven't listened to a ton of their stuff but from what I've heard I get the impression the majority of their "experimental" elements are just taking things from 60s and 70s prog bands that already did it much better and fitting it into their safe but well constructed fornula. Basically it's THE experimental rock band for people who haven't listened to much old prog rock.
