Greetings from Germany.
I'm an American stationed over in Germany, and I really miss the good old U.S.A..
Anyway, when I get the chance to go on leave, I like go to Hamburg.
There's this really wild group called The Beatles that play the strip clubs.
You've never seen anything like it.
They play all the American hits, but in their own wild way, and they play some of their own songs as well.
These shows can really get out of control.
When they play, they play for about six hours straight, and they're all drunk, and hopped up on Bennies. I remember one show where they all came out wearing toilet seats around their neck. Another show, one of the lead singers, I believe his name is John, held a comb over his lip, swore in German, and goose stepped all over the place. They also get into fights with their audiences sometimes, when they're drunk. I know, because I beat the shit out of John one night. (We made up, apologized to each other, and are good friends, now) They're very down to earth as people, and they love their fans, and speak to the audience personally in between songs. Sometimes they tell jokes. They can be funny, especially John.
The bass player, Stu, is leaving the band soon to pursue a career in art. (Best of luck, Stu)
Sadly, I think this band is a bit too out of control for America, and probably won't be welcomed, but, if you're ever in Hamburg, feel adventurous to go to The Reeperbahn district, and The Beatles are playing. go see them. It's an experience you won't son forget. I hope one day they'll put out a record, but I don't think it could ever capture the experience of a live show.
