Why was she shunned so much by the African American community? She should've been a point of pride for them much like MJ, Prince, Luther Vandross, Donna Summer and other trailblazers who broke down societal barriers for their community.

Her abuse has been a subject of mockery for a long time among black folx, notably Ike has never had problem networking with other black celebrities even after his unraveling and a common talking point was "Tina isn't an angel either" in spite of the fact that she didn't ask to keep anything besides the Turner name.

That's not even her best album (assuming you're speaking about the album, since the single is called The Best).

Blacks also talked shit about Whitney Houston as being for white people which was why album #3 tried to orient her more towards R&B.

Heard she started picking cotton before she turned 10 so I don't blame her for saying it sucked, I doubt many Brazilians have pride for their favelas.
