Yeah, the Rock ballads are just boring and cringe. You'd think it's some metal by the name and art, then it's some fatass eunuch singer.

Meatloaf wasn't the first, but it helped rock as a legitimate artform for theater fags and musicals. You hear that everywhere now. So it's relevant in its own way. You just have to be into that.

I like the title track a lot. But yeah I think over time people just lost interest in these 10 minute Broadway numbers.

what's the "cultural relevance" of Led Zeppelin IV, or a Drake or Tool or Chet Atkins album?

Good album but it's not even in the top 3 for Jim Steinman records.

It's a zombie bat Steinman wasn't involved in it at all really. it was a bunch of his old songs and they brought Todd Rundgren in for like 3 days just to get his name on the project its a total cash grab.

thats the thing.
for example, Killer Queen is a song with cultural relevance and one of Queen's big hits but no one is out here saying that Sheer Heart Attack is their favorite album of all time, most people cant really name more than 1 song from that album either.

It's bad. Desmond Child has always been a terrible songwriter and Steinman's material sounded worse than the original versions Steinman produced for Pandora's Box, his vampire musical and his solo album.
Braver Than We Are is a much better follow up to Bat Out of Hell 2.
